Betta Breviobesus

The Betta Breviobesus is of the family Osphronemidae, or gouramies, the subfamily macropodinae, and of the groups of ray finned fishes called Actinopterygii. Commonly they are called the Dusky Betta. Living in freshwater environments that have a pH level of between 5.5 to 7.0 with a temperature of between 22° to 26° Celsius, their natural habitat is in Sumatra and Singkep of Indonesia and the Malayan Peninsula. They will grow to about 8 centimeters. They are different than other similar species in that they have more anal fins. The most prominent different is in that they do not have the lines of color as seen in the Betta Enisae and other species of the like. They have dark borders on the caudal and anal fins, which is not seen in its cousins the Pugnax, Fusca, Schalleri and Pulchra.
