Physical Appearance: 

•    Deep wine-red
•    Males: pronounced green blotch
•    Females: lighter green blotch
•    Eye iris – iridescent blue


•    10-11 rays on dorsal fin
•    White pelvic fins

Size: 2 inches

Life Span: 5 years

Feeding in Captivity: Live and frozen; commercial flaked and dried

Water and Hardness: Specific hardness or softness is not required

Water Temperature: 78-82 degrees Fahrenheit

Water pH: Strongly acidic

Breeding: Strongly acidic water is necessary to maintain the stickiness of the bubblenest.
