Water Temperature: 74-83 degrees Fahrenheit

Water pH: 5.5-6.8

In Aquaria:

Physical Appearance: 

•    Large head
•    Large eyes
•    Brown body with lighter horizontal stripe
•    Male – iridescent green scales
•    Male – red spots above and below the lips
•    Female – lighter brown
•    Female – body has black blotches

Water and Hardness: Calcium-magnesium – 6; alkalinity – 2

Water Temperature: 75 degrees Fahrenheit

Water pH: 7.0

Breeding: As with most other mouthbrooders, the tank should be a 20 -gallon size. Cover and equip with many types of vegetation rooted on bottom and floating on the water’s surface.
