Native Location: Southwestern Malay Peninsula and Johore

Environment: Blackwater irrigation canals

Water pH: Very acidic 3.9-4.2

In Aquaria:

Physical Appearance: 

•    Larger body
•    Greenish-blue iridescent scales

Finnage:

•    Lance-shaped caudal fin
•    Dorsal fin has ladder-shaped markings
•    Anal fin has red and black margins
•    Pelvic fins are edged in iridescent green

Size: Just under 4 inches in length

Feeding in Captivity: Live and frozen

Water and Hardness: Neutral

Water Temperature: 78-82 degrees Fahrenheit

Water pH: Low - Acidic

Breeding: A darkened, covered, large tank (at least 20 gallons) is needed that is densely vegetated. Make sure the water is clean and clear and the pH is low.
