Native Location: Southeast coast of Sumatra

Environment: Hill and forest streams and swamps

Water and Hardness: Calcium-magnesium – 1; alkalinity – 1

Water Temperature: 83 degrees Fahrenheit

Water pH: 4.5-5.5

In Aquaria:

Physical Appearance: 

•    Gray or brown
•    Green gill coverings and throat
•    Scales are green-edged
•    Three black, horizontal lines on body (prominent middle stripe)
•    Tip of nose to gill cover has a wide dark band

Finnage:

•    Male’s fins are more elongated than female’s

Size: 4.5 inches in length

Feeding in Captivity: Live and frozen food

Water and Hardness: Calcium-magnesium of 1-2

Water Temperature: 71-77 degrees Fahrenheit

Water pH: 5.8-6.5

Breeding: A 20-gallon, shaded fish tank is best. There should be frequent water changes and very good filtration.
