Native Location: East side of the Malay Peninsula

Environment: Nearly motionless and stagnant streams

Water and Hardness: Extremely soft 1-2

Water pH: Approximately 5.5 but found as low as 3.62

In Aquaria:

Physical Appearance: Green flank

Finnage: Pointed anal and dorsal fins similar to Betta coccina

Size: 1.5 inches

Feeding in Captivity: Live and frozen; flaked and dried commercial foods; live vegetation

Water and Hardness: Very Soft (1-2 in its natural habitat)

Water Temperature: 77 degrees Fahrenheit

Water pH: Acidic
