Native Location: Mahachai-Ban Paow area near Bangkok in Samut Sakom Province of central Thailand

Environment: Coastal swamps

Food: Insects, larvae

Water pH: 7.8

In Aquaria:

Physical Appearance:

•    Dark blue-green

Finnage:

•    One caudal fin
•    One dorsal fin
•    Two pelvic fins
•    One anal fin
•    Two pectoral fins

Size: 2-3 inches in length

Feeding in Captivity:

•    Live/frozen foods
•    Brine shrimp
•    Bloodworms
•    Dried and/or flaked foods
•    Might accept Betta pellets

Water and Hardness: Enjoys a bit of salt added to the water and slightly hard although this species will tolerate most types of water

Water Temperature: 78-80 degrees Fahrenheit

Water pH: At least 7 but up to 7.8 is preferred

Breeding: Easier to breed if salt is added to the aquarium water.
