Foggy tank

Postby LIONESSATDUSK » Wed Jun 19, 2013 11:30 am

Hi all! My aquarium is cloudy. I have read so many articles on this. It's a white foggy kind of look. I have done water changes. I'm thinking about adding some live plants. Any thoughts on this? All help is appreciated.
Thank you

Hi!

A foggy tank could mean one of 2 things.

1. You may be overfeeding your Betta. Monitor how much your Betta eats and remove and left over food. Remember the 2 minute rule: don't offer your Betta more then they can eat in 2 minutes.

2. This could be New Tank Syndrome. Your tank just might need to cycle and build up some good bacteria.

I hope this helps:)

Could simply be your water. If you're using tap and purifying it with drops, sometimes it will remain whiteish for some time. If you're continuously changing it trying to get rid of it, that's probably just keeping it the same. Leave it sit for a few days, it may just go away. If it doesn't go away within, eh, 3 days, I'd consider using a different, more powerful filter.

Thank you for your help. It is a new tank so perhaps I will just chill a bit and see what happens..
Thank you for your responses!
