my tank {10}gal is starting to cycle an the water has like a white film on top every morning .im changing 3 gal every 3 4 days.an i finaly got a rock vac. boy did we need that.iv read that we shouldnt use bleach at all but i need to clean the net an vac an stuff ? what should i use? an thank you! :D

Hi Kim!

Can I ask about the steps you took so far to cycle your tank? Do you have fish in it? What is in the tank? How long have you been cycling it for? How often do you check the pH level?

OK well i have had my 1ST tank for 4 weeks now an i have 4 fishies Grasshopper an 3 pandas cories ! Now the fish are happy but the film on top is just yuck! may be old food ?i try to feed live stuff so may be oil ? ph 7.2=7.4 amo 2.0=4.0 nitrite 0=0.25 nitrate 0=1 OH heck new tan syndrome FOO ie new mom syndrom!!!! :oops: :oops: :oops: :oops: WELL ANY THING ADVISE CAN ONLY HELP RIGHT NOW HI WOO! :D

Yes, could be old food. You could do a partial water change and siphon the gravel.
