Wondering if changing the plants (silk) is beneficial for my Blue's happiness or will it make him crazy?

Hi Marcie!

Thanks for posting. Just saw your post. About your question - bettas have specific needs when it comes to their surroundings. They don't require a 'pretty tank' but they do require safe zones or hiding places where they can hide and feel safe when they feel threatened by something. With this in mind, you don't have to change the scenery in your tank if your betta/s already have adequate hiding spots. If you'd like to improve your tank, I'd suggest focusing on lighting as the day and night cycle is extremely important to freshwater fish.
